Not all crayons are made alike

My first Pinterest-inspired art project was going to be the crayons on canvas art.  I was working on a budget, so I figured that would be the perfect project to start with.  When I went to the craft store, the canvas was 50% off.  SCORE!!! I knew a certain dollar store sold crayons, so I ventured there to get some cheap color for my canvas.  Here is what I bought:

Notice the original price was $2.85 (which I later learned was only $0.04 less than the brand name crayons at another store), and the promise of "A rainbow of colors".
With great anticipation for my project, and pride for spending so little, I opened the box...and here is what was inside:

After some careful arrangement, I came up with the ugliest "rainbow" I've ever seen!
At this point, I think it's important to notice that there are about 7 color variations in 6 randomly selected wrapper colors.  But, if anyone needs to color a large amount of racially diverse people, I have a nice range of skin tones here for you!

This is definitely a case of 'You get what you pay for', and I have learned my lesson:  Don't cheap out on the crayons.  Yes, they were only a dollar, but now I have a pile of useless crayons and had to go back out and buy the name brand anyway.
I think the best thing about these crayons was the built-in sharpener!  If you're into that sort of thing.
